At an extraordinary meeting of Frodsham Town Council on 1st September 2025, a planning application for a new housing development of 91 dwellings on land opposite Castle Park with proposed access from the A56, was discussed. Twenty-four residents attended the meeting In Castle Park Arts Centre. Four people raised points including building on land that is designated “Green Belt”, increased traffic congestion, especially at peak times and when accidents impact on the M56, increased pressure on overstretched infrastructure and concern about the potential loss of or damage to heritage assets.
Frodsham Town Council has stated in the minutes that it does not support or object to the application 25/02109/FUL, however, it has highlighted three priority concerns in its response to CWAC. Details of the response can be read at www.frodsham.gov.uk under meeting, Events Committee
