By kind permission of the Warburton Family the 99th Cheshire Ploughing & Hedge Laying Match was held at Hatley Farm, Frodsham on Wednesday 24th September 2025.
The weather was perfect and visitors enjoyed watching the Shire Horse and tractor ploughing classes, hedge laying competition and machinery demonstrations. There were over ninety trade stands offering advice and services to the farming community. Many had competitions for visitors to participate in and delicious food!
The well-known actor and Strictly winner Kelvin Fletcher was filming for his ITV series 'Fletcher's Family Farm' and could be seen trying his hand at ploughing with two Shire horses.
A wonderful day was had by all! It was ten years since the last Ploughing Match had been held in Frodsham. The 100th will be held in September 2026 at Cross Lane Farm in Bickley, Malpas.
