Caring Frodsham Primary Academy turns silver into gold

AcademyFrodsham Primary Academy turned silver into gold at this year’s annual Cheshire Young Carers Awards. The award celebrates the school’s commitment to supporting pupils who are young carers, ensuring they feel seen, supported, and empowered every day. It is the third year running that the school has been recognised in the awards. Last year they received a silver award.

The accolade was presented to Assistant Headteacher Stephanie Price (left) and Pastoral and Inclusion Lead Debbie Sutton (right) by the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, Lady Alexis Redmond (centre), during an awards evening at the Courtyard Complex, Eaton Park.

Debbie Sutton said: “It is vital that we identify and support children who may be supporting parents, grandparents, or siblings with physical or emotional needs. Frodsham Primary Academy’s approach to the personal development of pupils beyond pure academic achievement, including its support of young carers, was recognised by Ofsted inspectors in 2025 when the school received an ‘outstanding’ rating for personal development.”
